Cross Stitch Pattern by Luciana Zeferino Ortiz - Peacock Garden

$50.00

Luciana learned needlework with her mother as a young girl, and has been stitching ever since. Now 42 and a mother of 8, she makes these beautiful pieces to keep tortillas warm and to sell to support her family. Just weeks before her son Lelo was detained, Luciana’s family moved from Skagit Valley back to their Pueblo Santa Cruz Yucucani in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Before they left, Luciana gave these pieces to the founder of C2C, Rosalinda Guillen. C2C is sharing these with the wider community on her behalf, and all proceeds will go directly to Luciana’s family to support their transition.

This pattern is ready to stitch! The design is marked out with colored ink on cotton Aida cloth. This would be a nice project to work on by yourself, or together with family and friends. We have been enjoying simply having the patterns out in our work spaces, even before beginning to add thread to them. They are works of art in and of themselves!
