Bienestar Program
Bienestar means “wellbeing”. Our approach to organizing
centers relationship as a critical component of systemic change.
We cannot change systems without committing deeply to each
others’ well being.
Bienestar teams are arranged by
neighborhood
Knowing our neighbors is how we prepare and how we know how to respond to the emergencies that are coming (ICE, climate disasters, white supremacy, police). It is also a fundamental value at C2C that we don’t create solutions for other people, because we believe that communities know best how to identify and solve their own issues.
Our organizing approach is strategic. We are building small teams of people who will get to know each other and talk about the issues that are impacting them in their neighborhoods. Bienestar teams are meant to be neighborhood specific organizational hubs, where people can:
Get to know people living in their neighborhood
Decide together what issues to prioritize
Mobilize for political change
