From the artist Sol:
I worked as a farm worker trainee for Cooperativa Tierra y Libertad, and primarily worked with harvesting the fruits and vegetables on the farm for selling, and at the Everson Nooksack Valley farmers market during the summers.
I enjoy crocheting as a hobby and have now found a way to connect it to my work with Tierra y Libertad by crocheting vegetables and chickens like the ones we raise at the farm! I believe that it’s always important to weave in joy and art within all movements as a reminder of what we’re fighting towards and with.
